As in previous years, Ammodo supports the competition programmes of the 34th edition of International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), which takes place from Wednesday 17 to Sunday 28 October 2021. In doing so, Ammodo contributes to the development of filmmaking talent and the visibility of creative documentaries.
This year, IDFA revamped its programme structure. The new setup sees the introduction of the International Competition and the Envision Competition, two programmes featuring fifteen films each which form the heart of the festival. Next to a prize for best film, both competitions will also acknowledge other aspects of filmmaking, with awards for best editing, best cinematography and extraordinary artistic achievement.
Further, the festival introduces two cross-section awards: the IDFA Award for Best First Feature and the IDFA Award for Best Dutch Film.
