The project received the Ammodo Architecture Award for Social Architecture worth €150,000 for its innovative approach to housing vulnerable groups, including the homeless, while reusing existing buildings and rural structures.
In the article, gaupenraub architect Alexander Hagner and current residents of the complex reflect on the project’s invigorating impact. One inhabitant, Bashir, says: ‘The best thing this place has given me is “family”. We eat together, we talk –we help one another.’
