
NBprojects realises projects of the choreographer and curator Nicole Beutler. For the performances 6: THE SQUARE and 7: TRYPTICHON Beutler was inspired by the geometric principles of the Bauhaus: circular, square and triangular shapes form a substantive theme. 6: THE SQUARE (2016) is concerned with the square and in 7: TRYPTICHON (2017) Beutler moves on to the triangle/the trinity. Beutler’s work explores the idea of the Gesamtkunstwerk as a conception of art in which different disciplines such as architecture, design and theater are intertwined. Ammodo supports 6: THE SQUARE and 7: TRYPTICHON to contribute to the development of Nicole Beutler who, with these performances, is taking the plunge as a choreographer into the world of larger halls and theatres.

RAW Academy is a postgraduate course for international artists, curators and critics in Dakar, initiated by Koyo Kouoh, curator and founder of Raw Material Company. In Senegal, the traditional academies are dominant and there are few opportunities for young artists who have completed their training to continue to develop in an innovative and independent manner. Ammodo supports RAW Academy as a way of contributing to the creation of a high-quality postgraduate institution in Senegal and promoting the exchange between different artistic media.

Het Concertgebouw is organising the festival Turning East from the 20th until the 25th of November 2017, with music from the Middle-East and the Maghreb-countries. Turning East will present jazz, pop and classical music developed within Arab, Kurdish and Persian traditions. The programme also includes work by Mohammed Fairouz, the new composer in residence of Het Concertgebouw. Ammodo supports Turning East to contribute to the development and exposure of music from the Middle-East in Het Concertgebouw.
Theatregroup De Warme Winkel creates a magnus opus after 30 productions: De Warme Winkel speelt De Warme Winkel. In this production the theatregroup explores their own style and work using the iconic danceperformance Café Müller from Pina Bausch. The interest, possibility and bounderies of authenticity in contemporary (performing) arts form the a central role in this production. De Hallen in Haarlem presents What the Heart Wants: a solo exhibition with new and renowned work of the Belgian-American artist Cécile B. Evans. Commisioned by the museum Evans made the video-installation What the Heart Wants, in which she presents a scenario for the future with an omnipotent system with human characteristics named HYPER. In this work she speculates about the impact of technology on society and our sense of emotions. Ammodo supports What the Heart Wants to contribute to the development of Cécile B. Evans and the visibility of her work.

Crashtest Ibsen: ik zie spoken, directed by Sarah Moeremans (1979), is the third of the four-part Crashtest Ibsen series, based on pieces by the Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen. The first two performances Crashtest Ibsen: Nora and Crashtest Ibsen: Volksvijand were presented in 2013 and 2014. In Crashtest Ibsen: ik zie spoken the neurotic urge of man to want to control everything is exposed. Joachim Robbrecht has written an adaptation of Ibsen’s Ghosts (1881) for this production. Ammodo supports Crashtest Ibsen: ik zie spoken to contribute to both the artistic development of Sarah Moeremans and to the creation of a high-quality theater production.
Showmachine was set up by writer, director and performer Joachim Robbrecht (1979). The Great Warmachine, a production directed by Joachim Robbrecht, explores the obviousness of peace in relation to the historical formation and current state of Europe. To this end Robbrecht has developed an artistic strategy called ‘Theatre of War’ in which he invites the viewer to experience war as a ritual and play. By supporting The Great Warmachine Ammodo aims to contribute to the development of the production itself and the artistic development of Joachim Robbrecht.

Die Fremden by NTGent, directed by Johan Simons, is a multidisciplinary music theatre production which was developed in cooperation with the ensemble Asko | Schönberg. Die Fremden is a co-production with the Ruhrtriennale and the Rotterdam Schouwburg and will première in Marl in September 2016. It is based on the novel The Stranger (1942) by Albert Camus, the recently published novel The Meursault Investigation by Kamel Daoud (written in response to Camus’ book) and Submission in which Michel Houellebecq pictures a radical change in the political and cultural climate in the France of 2022. The cast includes Pierre Bokma and Elsie de Brauw. The visual artist Aernout Mik is creating new work for this production. Ammodo supports Die Fremden in order to contribute to the development of high quality international music theatre.

In the beginning of 2018 the first String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam (SQBA) will be presented in Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ. During the String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam new compositions from Jörg Wildman, Manuela Kerker and Silvia Colasanti will be presented. Ammodo supports the String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam to contribute to the development of the genre of the string quartet.
For the first time in the history of documenta the art manifestation is presented in two cities. From the 8th of April until the 16th of July 2017 documenta 14: Learning From Athens is being presented in Athens and starting on the 10th of June and running until the 17th of September 2017 documenta will take place in Kassel. The exhibitions are autonomous, but are being presented in part simultaneously and are strongly related. Adam Szymczyk has been appointed as artistic director of documenta 14. Ammodo supports the making of some of the performances, which have been integrated in the overall programme of documenta 14.

I will wait for you is a contemporary dance production from Arno Schuitemaker. This production will be performed by Revé Terborg, Jenia Kasatkina and Stein Fluijt. The public spectators will be moved by the slow, evolving movements, that are brought together with sound and lights. The performance isn’t parted in different scenes, which emphasizes the loss of awareness of time. Ammodo supports I will wait for you to contribute to the development of contemporary dance, and in special the artistic development of Arno Schuitemaker.

If I Can’t Dance I Don’t Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution focuses on the development of new performance productions. Over a period of two years the organisation accompanies four artists and four curators during the development of new work. If I Can’t Dance has organised the Performance Days since 2014 where the new work has it’s première. In the forthcoming period If I Can’t Dance will work together with Leonor Antunes, Erin Alexa Freedman & Lili Huston-Hertrich, Alex Martinis Roe, Fred Moten and Wu Tsang, Peter Pál Pelbárt, Naufus Ramírez-Figueroa, Joke Robaard and Vivian Ziherl. Ammodo supports Performance Days because it contributes both to the development of the participating artists and curators and to the development of new performance art productions.

The co-production 2666 by French director Julien Gosselin and his company Si vous pouviez lécher mon coeur is a large-scale musical montage performance, based on the novel of the same name by Chilean author Roberto Bolaño. According to Gosselin himself, he is engaged by the innovative and confrontational way Bolaño addresses the issue of violence and the historical relationship between Europe and South America. The production 2666 can be seen from May 2017 in the Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam. Ammodo supports 2666 to contribute to the artistic development of Julien Gosselin.

EYE on Art is a series of exhibitions which straddles the border between visual arts and film. EYE presents a different artist in this series each year. EYE on Art gives the participating artists the opportunity to present their work in a museum environment which is technically equipped for displaying video installations. The first exhibition to be presented by EYE in this series is If We Ever Get to Heaven, an exhibition with new work by William Kentridge (Johannesburg, 1955). Ammodo supports Eye on Art as a way of contributing to the establishment of trans-disciplinary exhibitions, the development of the participating artists and the formation of an international discourse concerning visual arts and video art.

Each year between 2015 and 2017 Toneelgroep Amsterdam led by Ivo van Hove are developing one new production, which is then shown on the Ruhrtriennale. The new productions are based on the eponymous novels by Louis Couperus. The text is edited by Eric de Vroedt. The trilogy comprises De Stille kracht, Van oude mensen, De dingen die voorbijgaan and De boeken der kleine zielen. Ammodo supports Trilogy from Toneelgroep Amsterdam as a contribution to the creation of new plays and also to the development and international visibility of Toneelgroep Amsterdam.

Kunstverein is a curatorial office for experiment and debate. The organisation adopts avant-garde positions in the production of culture. Kunstverein organizes exhibitions, performances and social events and is active as a publicist of independent publications. Ammodo supports Kunstverein as a way of contributing to the development and deepening of new models in exhibiting and collaboration at both a national and international level.
De Exoot (Tropical Healing) is a coproduction of De Warme Winkel and Joachim Robbrecht from Showmachine. Similar as in his previous production, The Great Warmachine, director Joachim Robbrecht uses an contemporary European theme as subject. The ambiguous attitude concerning other cultures is the main theme in De Exoot (Tropical Healing). Robbrecht and De Warme Winkel go back to the colonial past. The support of Ammodo is aimed at contributing to the development of Robbrecht and De Warme Winkel.

Geography of Time is the first major mid-career exhibition of the established artist Fiona Tan (Sumatra, 1966). Fiona is currently based in the Netherlands. The exhibition presents both earlier major works, such as the double projection, Rise and Fall (2009), and her most recent work. Tan is developing an installation environment that compliments the architecture of the MMK Frankfurt museum specially for the exhibition. Ammodo is supporting Geography of Time in order to contribute to the visibility and the artistic development of Fiona Tan.

The theatreshow Husbands and wives is based on the eponymous Woody Allen film from 1992. Performed by Toneelgroep Amsterdam and directed by Australian director Simon Stone (1984), Husbands and wives brings the reality of romance, with all its defects, to light. Ammodo supports Husbands and wives to contribute to the artistic development of Simon Stone, as well as the realisation of a new repertoire for Toneelgroep Amsterdam.

Privacy is a show by De Warme Winkel which straddles performance and theater. The show is a co-production by De Warme Winkel and Wunderbaum and is developed and played by Ward Weemhoff (De Warme Winkel) and Wiene Dierickx (Wunderbaum). Privacy is inspired by similar works from the history of art, the public life of famous artist couples and philosophical and sociological ideas about privacy and the domination of the personal in public. Ammodo supports Privacy to contribute to the creation of this international co-production.

The solo exhibition Geometry of the Scattering includes new work by visual and performance artist Germaine Kruip (1970). In addition to new pieces such as A Square, spoken (2015) and Oude Kerk Untitled (2015), the exhibition includes previously completed work including Column Untitled (2011-2015) and A Room 24 Hours (2010), adapted for the exhibition to the ecclesiastical space. In addition to the exhibition, the Oude Kerk organises a series of debates, lectures and a preview of the new performance Geometry of the Scattering in the Veem House for Performance. Ammodo supports Geometry of the Scattering because by presenting this exhibition the Oude Kerk is contributing to the development of Germaine Kruip and the further exposure of her work.
