Director Jessie L’Herminez brings Eugène Ionesco’s absurdist play The Chairs (1952) to the stage for Toneelschuur Producties. In this ‘tragic farce’, an old man and woman are confronted with their own mortality as they wait for the end. Together they play to fend off the meaninglessness.
