In the past three years, Zito Lema has investigated two conflict situations of which the Oude Kerk forms the centre: the Beeldenstorm (roughly: ‘image storm’) of 1566 and the recent resistance to a red stained glass window. The traces left behind by both conflicts form the starting point for Zito Lema’s new work, which consists of photography, sculptures, textile works, poetry and an installation with basins.
