Het leven zelf is a theatre adaptation by Loek de Bakker of Roelof ten Napel’s book of the same name. It tells the story of Amos, a succesful swimmer who falls to his death from an appartment building. Through the memories of seven people who were connected to Amos, a life is reconstructed.

De Bakker: “This intelligent and gentle novel invited me to think in both intimate and grand ways, and to place the existential next to the fleeting moments of everyday life.”
